We provide EDT lessons, reduced EDT for foreign licence holders, pre-test preparation, mock driving tests, motorway lessons and car hire for the official RSA driving test in Dublin.
We offer door-to-door pickup in Swords, Artane, Raheny, Baldoyle, Donaghmede, Coolock, Clontarf, Killester and surrounding North Dublin areas. If your area is not listed, get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Yes. All BP Driving School instructors are RSA-approved ADIs (Approved Driving Instructors), fully trained and fully insured.
We currently provide manual lessons as standard. Automatic lessons may be available depending on instructor schedule—please contact us for current availability.
EDT (Essential Driver Training) is a mandatory programme of 12 structured driving lessons for first-time learner permit holders in Ireland. It is designed by the RSA to help you build core driving skills and become a safer driver.
Most learners complete the 12 EDT lessons over 6–12 weeks. There are mandatory gaps between some lessons, and many students add extra practice lessons to build confidence.
Yes. After each EDT lesson, your instructor records it in the official RSA MyEDT system so your progress is tracked and you are eligible to sit the driving test once all lessons are complete.
Yes. If you hold a full foreign driving licence recognised by the RSA, you may qualify for the 6-lesson Reduced EDT programme. We can guide you through the process and deliver all six lessons.
Qualification depends on the country that issued your licence and RSA rules. Contact us with details of your licence and we will help you understand whether you qualify.
Your instructor will assess your driving across all key test elements. We also recommend taking at least one full mock test so we can evaluate you using RSA marking guidelines and identify any remaining weaknesses.
Yes. Our mock test replicates the real RSA driving test as closely as possible, including common routes in Finglas and Raheny. You receive detailed feedback and an improvement plan.
Yes. We offer car hire packages that include a pre-test warm-up lesson, mock assessment and use of our dual-control car for the full driving test. This is available for Finglas, Raheny and other North Dublin test centres.
Most learners require between 15 and 25 lessons in total, depending on previous experience, confidence and test centre routes. After a few lessons, your instructor will give you a realistic estimate based on your progress.
Lesson prices vary depending on the type of lesson (EDT, pre-test, mock test or motorway). We also offer discounted packages for EDT and test preparation. Please contact us for our latest rates.
You can book by phone, email or through the contact form on our website. We will confirm instructor availability and agree a time and pickup location that suits you.
Yes. We provide door-to-door pickup within our North Dublin service areas, including Swords, Raheny, Artane, Baldoyle, Donaghmede, Coolock, Clontarf and Killester.
We accept Revolut, debit and credit cards, bank transfer and cash. Package lessons are usually paid in advance.
Lessons should be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. This allows us to offer the slot to another learner.
Absolutely. Many of our students start with little or no experience. We follow a calm, step-by-step approach that builds confidence and safe habits at your pace.
Yes. We provide refresher lessons for fully licensed drivers who want to rebuild confidence or improve specific skills, as well as motorway lessons for new full-licence holders.
